Children’s Feet (Podopodiatrics)

Children and adolescents experience a variety of foot and ankle problems. From congenital disorders, such as severe flatfoot, to sports injuries, to ingrown nails. It's essential that your children get highly capable, results-oriented attention.

The study of children and adolescents within Podiatry is called Podopaediatrics.

Children and adolescents experience a variety of lower limb problems. From congenital disorders, such as severe flatfoot, to sports injuries or ingrown nails.

Knock knees, bow legs, intoed feet etc. are all conditions that should be thoroughly assessed to determine where the problem lies. Often no treatment is necessary, however on occasion early intervention can make the difference.

Advising a child to wear foot orthoses, correct footwear, work on weak/tight musculature etc or occasionally refer to see a specialist orthopedic surgeon may be the outcome of a visit to our clinic.

Often all that is required is assurance that your child's development is occurring normally and nothing other than an annual check is necessary to review the child.
